Norovirus in Kerala: Mysore on alert as Kerala reports norovirus cases Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysore: Health department officials on high alert in border areas norovirus in neighboring Wayanad district Kerala, The authorities have decided to continue the screening for Covid-19 and norovirus symptoms at Baoli checkpost till further orders of the district administration.

On Wednesday, a meeting of officials was held at DB Kuppe Primary Health Center in which officers of various departments, Anganwadi workers, hope: Workers and local Gram Panchayat members were present. In the meeting, stakeholders were briefed about the norovirus symptoms which include diarrhoea, vomiting, nausea etc. The officials were asked to report any symptomatic person other than those coming from Kerala along with the local authorities.
“We have requested the local authorities to keep a watch on the local developments. Door-to-door surveillance will continue. We have requested ASHA, Anganwadi and Gram Panchayat members to report if any person develops norovirus symptoms,” explained Dr Ravi Kumar.
Every day, hundreds of vehicles and locals travel between HD Kota and parts of Kerala for various purposes. Since this border area has a huge tribal population, the authorities are keeping a strict vigil to ensure that norovirus does not spread in the taluk.
