Now travel from Bangalore to Mumbai, Pune in just 7 hours, 699 km long new expressway in the works!

The road trip from Bangalore to Pune, Mumbai is one of the most frequent trips for people living in these cities. Well, there is good news for the common people on this route, as Silicon Valley and the financial capital of the country will now be linked through a new expressway which will reduce the travel time by about 7 hours. As a result, the new expressway will bring these cities closer than before. About Rs 50,000 crore will be spent on the construction of the new Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru Expressway. Well, it is anticipated that NHAI will receive a formal proposal from the authorities by December this year after the completion of the DPR (Detailed Project Report).

The construction of the highway will start after land acquisition, the process of which may start later this year. The project is estimated to be completed by 2028. The expressway will pass through 12 districts, of which nine are from Karnataka, while 3 are from Maharashtra. The list includes – Belagavi, Davangere, Tumakuru, Satara, Sangli, Pune, Chitradurga, Vijayanagar (Ballari), Koppal, Bagalkot, Bengaluru Rural and Gadag.

According to reports, the expressway will run from Kanjale on the Pune Ring Road to Muthagadahalli on the Satellite Ring Road in Bengaluru. Also, the expressway is expected to bring business to these districts. Considering future expansion, the meridian will be 15 meters wide, while there will be 55 flyovers on the course. There will be plantation on both sides of the expressway besides facilities and other infrastructure.

The Mumbai/Pune-Bengaluru Expressway will be a sight to behold as it will be filled with beautiful landscapes. The expressway will cross about 10 rivers – Yerala, Neera, Chand River, Krishna, Agni, Ghataprabha, Tungabhadra, Malaprabha, Chikka Hagri and Vedavath. In fact, the overall landscape in the region will make it a pleasant drive for the users.
