Stock exchange NSE has reduced the lot size of Bank Nifty from 25 to 15 with effect from July 2023 monthly expiry. However, the stock exchange has left unchanged the derivative contracts of other market lots on the index, namely Nifty 50, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Midcap Select, at 50, 45 and 75, respectively.

“Only the far month contracts i.e. July 2023 expiry contracts will be revised to market lot. The existing market lots for contracts maturing in April 2023, May 2023 and June 2023 will continue. All subsequent contracts (i.e. July 2023 monthly expiry and beyond) Later) ) will have revised market lots,” reads the NSE circular.
NSE said that the lot size of all existing Nifty Bank long-term option contracts (with expiry of more than 3 months) will be revised from 25 to 15 after the expiry of June 2023 contracts (i.e. June 30, 2023).
Day spread order book will not be available for the combination contract of May 2023, July 2023 and June 2023, expiring in July 2023.
NSE further said that the August 2023 weekly expiry and subsequent contracts will have revised market lots.
