Noel Mai, CEO, FPSB Ltd. said, “Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the pace of development of CFP professionals in India is strong and growing, in line with the global trends of the CFP certification program.” “India’s growth rate of CFP professionals placed it in the top three globally followed by Brazil and Indonesia with growth rates of 36% and 22% respectively. And India’s net growth of 349 CFP professionals made it the top seven growth globally. FPSB Ltd. is deeply grateful to our supporters in India, including our education providers, and to all CFP professionals in India who are committed to rigorous standards and put the interests of their clients first.”

Since taking over the direct conduct of the CFP certification program in India in 2019, the FPSB has updated the curriculum for CFP certification; introduced three specific designations as career paths for CFP certification; partnered with NSE Academy and an online exam provider to offer certification exams across India; and facilitated online and in-person Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for CFP professionals to maintain their certification. These efforts have resulted in 1,602 candidates and 621 newly created CFP professionals enrolled in education and certification programs in the past year, the FPSB said.

“While the CFP certification program in India last year was a success story, with less than 2,400 CFP professionals, the country has enormous growth potential,” Mai said. “India has a vast population of young, educated people who want to establish themselves in rewarding careers and to showcase their abilities against a global benchmark. FPSB is a great way to prepare new entrants to the profession and help professionals, employers, etc. , will work with our stakeholders in India to deepen ties between associations, regulators and the government to promote and support the emergence of financial planning in India as a valued and respected profession, with CFP certification With it it is a symbol of excellence.”
