Nupur Sharma: Commentary of the Prophet; SC pulls up Nupur Sharma, says her ‘loose tongue’ has set the whole country on fire. India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Supreme court There was a heavy fall in the east on Friday BJP leader Nupur Sharma, who stirred controversy with his remarks against the Prophet, saying that his loose tongue had set the whole country on fire. His anger is responsible for the unfortunate incidents, the SC bench said.
The Supreme Court bench made this remark when Nupur Sharma filed a transfer application in the Supreme Court. In his application, Sharma had urged for transfer of all cases against him in various states to Delhi as “his life is in danger due to constant threats”. Nupur Sharma said that she is constantly receiving death threats from different states.

Referring to his apology and withdrawal of comments on the Prophet, the Supreme Court bench said it was too late in the day to withdraw.
“His apology came too late and that too conditionally saying that if religious sentiments have been hurt, he should have been on TV immediately and apologized to the nation,” the bench said.
The court reprimanded Sharma for her stubbornness and arrogance and said that since she is the spokesperson of a party, the power has gone to her head.

Sharma’s remarks against the Prophet during a TV debate triggered protests across the country and invited sharp reactions from several Gulf countries. Later BJP suspended him from the party.
Senior advocate Maninder Singh tried to prove his truth by saying that he immediately apologized. But, the Supreme Court said that such people have an agenda and their nefarious purpose is to get cheap publicity.
While refusing to entertain Sharma’s plea to add to the FIRs lodged against him in various states for the controversial remarks, a vacation bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice JB Pardiwala allowed him to withdraw the petition.
“These comments are very disturbing and smell of arrogance. What is his business of making comments like this? These remarks have caused unfortunate incidents in the country… These people are not religious. They have no respect for other religions. These comments were made for cheap propaganda or political agenda or some other nefarious activities.
“The way she has ignited sentiments across the country has led to unfortunate incidents. This woman alone is responsible for what is happening in the country. We have seen the debate,” the bench said.
The court’s remarks against the suspended BJP leader comes in the backdrop of the brutal murder of a tailor in Udaipur by two men, who posted videos online saying they were taking revenge for insults to Islam.
“On his complaint, a person has been arrested, but despite several FIRs, he is yet to be touched by the Delhi Police,” the SC bench said.
Terming her a complete ‘loose tongue’, the Supreme Court said, “She makes all irresponsible statements and claims to be a lawyer of 10 years. She should apologize to the entire nation.”

When Sharma sought a probe into the FIR registered by the Delhi Police and said she had already joined the investigation, the bench said, “What has happened in the investigation so far? There must have been a red carpet for you.” ?”
When the SC bench asked Sharma to move the respective trial court and seek bail in each FIR, Maninder Singh said the apex court has laid down the principle to prevent multiple FIRs for the same alleged offense in the Arnab Goswami case.
After nearly 30 minutes of rigorous debate, the SC bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala said that when the court is not convinced of goodwill, it will not entertain the petition. This forced Sharma’s counsel to withdraw the petition.
The top court’s refusal to entertain her plea has added to Nupur Sharma’s troubles as she has to join investigations in every state where FIRs have been filed against her for her “prophet remarks”.
