while we wait NVIDIA To re-stock its existing GPUs such as the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3060, the company is set to release new and more powerful units in the market.
XDA Developers reports that Nvidia will launch a new flagship GPU, the RTX 3090 Ti, which was originally supposed to be launched as the RTX 3090 Super. The RTX 3090 is going to be the new flagship GPU for Ti enthusiasts and it will bring a lot more than just more cores – a higher TDP rating, a new power connector, and more.
The RTX 3090 Ti is expected to have a TDP of up to 450W, which will help dissipate much of the heat generated by the computer chip under any workload. The RTX 3090 has a 350W TDP which is 100W less than the RTX 3090 Ti. Higher TDP will allow newer GPUs to have higher clocks for both GPU and VRAM.
Furthermore, this upcoming GPU is also expected to include a new power connector which is reportedly a new standard for PCIe Gen 5. Information about Gen 5-ready 16-pin connectors is still in unknown territory and will only be revealed when we see some. Compatible motherboards on the market.
The upcoming flagship GPU is said to have 21Gbps of memory with a 2GB module instead of the 1GB module on the current model. The rumored RTX 3070 Ti GPU with 16GB of VRAM is also expected to have a 2GB module, but it won’t have a new PCB, unlike the RTX 3090 Ti.
The RTX 3090 Ti is expected to arrive in January 2022 along with the new RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 2060 GPU with 12GB of VRAM. Nvidia GPUs may soon come with at least 8GB of VRAM.
