Sambalpur: Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (Vimsari), Burla, will conduct MBBS and MD examination on its own from the next academic session.
In a recent letter, the controller of examinations of Sambalpur University has advised the director of Vimsar to conduct MBBS and MD examination as it has been declared as an independent institute (in 2014) and is no longer affiliated to the university.
Director of Vimsar Lalit Meher said, “Sambalpur University has already sent us the letter. We have to appoint some doctors to conduct the examination. Since we do not have the experience of conducting such examination, we have to face some problems. Might have to face it. But run in the long run, it’ll be worth it.”
Vimsar has 1,000 MBBS and around 300 PG students. The students have welcomed the development.
