Corporation Commissioner T. Christuraj along with Salem MP SR Parthibhan and other senior officials inspected the site for setting up an electric crematorium at Mittapudhur here.
Officials toured the 7,500-sq. Land where an electric crematorium will be constructed for ₹2.48 crore. The officials took stock of the availability of various facilities in the area. The commissioner and the MP later visited Padayappa Nagar where a market would be set up. The officials also visited the Maruti Garden complex where the rain water was stagnant. The officials discussed measures to prevent stagnation of water in the area.
