Carandbike reached out to Ola Electric to get an official response on the number of electric scooters offered to the customers, but is yet to receive a response from the company. According to the data available on the official vehicle website, during December 2021, when Ola Electric started deliveries of its electric scooters, only 238 scooters were registered till the end of the month. This is significantly less than the 4,000 electric scooters that Ola claims to have shipped during the month. Ola Electric does not have any dealerships and follows doorstep delivery model.

According to recent reports, the production of the Ola S1 electric scooter is also slow.
Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Telangana are not included in the official vehicle website data. Even though taking into account the official holidays and the delay in updating the registration data on the government website, the number of 238 is very less as compared to the 4,000 deliveries claimed by Ola Electric. As of January 6, 2021, as of the writing of this story, government registration data shows only 439 Ola electric scooters registered, with January registrations accounting for 201 scooters so far. Even this figure is much less than what Ola Electric claims.

The Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters fall under the high-speed electric scooter segment and require registration before they can be delivered to the customers.
