Omicron fear: Night curfew in Uttar Pradesh from December 25

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to impose night curfew in the state amid rising omicron cases in the country. The restrictions will come into effect from December 25. Curfew will remain in all 75 districts from 11 pm to 5 am.

Additionally, the government said that only 200 people would be allowed to attend marriages and social functions with the required COVID protocols.

Notably, several states have already imposed strict restrictions in the wake of Omicron’s rising cases. While night curfew has been imposed in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other states have banned celebrations and social gatherings ahead of Christmas and New Years.

Earlier this week, the Center had sent an advisory to states and union territories asking them to increase vigilance and take measures like night curfew, ban on other events to contain the spread of Omicron, which is highly contagious. Is.

In Noida, the Police Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar district has announced the imposition of Section 144 till December 31. Restrictions have been imposed to check the spread of COVID and to maintain law and order situation.
