Omicron India: Delhi AIIMS chief Randeep Guleria asks people to follow 2 things

Amid the rise in cases of omicron in India, country’s top surgeon Dr Randeep Guleria has suggested that there are two major things people should do to protect themselves from this new type of coronavirus. Stating that Omicron is the “more transmissible version”, Guleria said people should complete their vaccinations and follow the rules laid down by the health ministry to follow the proper handling of COVID-19.

According to the news agency report, “Omicron is a more permeable version. We need to do two things to protect ourselves, first is to take vaccines and second is to follow the proper behavior of COVID.” ANI,

Last week, Dr Guleria had said that India should be prepared as omicron cases are increasing rapidly across Europe. “We must be prepared and hope that things don’t get as bad as in the United Kingdom. We need more data. Whenever there is an increase in cases in other parts of the world, we need to monitor it closely and take any One needs to be prepared for the event,” he had said.

To take a closer look at the situation of Kovid across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a review meeting on 23 December i.e. tomorrow. India’s Omicron tally has risen to 213 on Wednesday, with Delhi and Maharashtra reporting the total number of cases at 57 and 54, respectively. The latest data from the Union Health Ministry shows that out of the total 213 patients, 90 have been discharged after recovery.

The Center has also asked states to impose night curfew and strictly control large gatherings amid a surge in cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant in different parts of the country.
