On Richa Chadha’s ‘Galwan’ tweet, Ghulam Nabi Azad said, ‘Those humiliating forces are doing harm to the country’

Former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday took a dig at actor Richa Chadha’s recent tweet referring to the Galwan Valley clash, which recently sparked a controversy. Azad said that whoever insults the army is insulting the country. “We are safe because of the army and those who are making fun of or insulting the army are doing a disservice to the country,” he said.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Azad said, ‘Those abusive forces should not be supported and some leaders may be doing it personally.

In one of her recent tweets, Richa Chadha apparently referred to the deadly Galwan Valley clash in 2020. In the now withdrawn tweet, the actor had written “Galwan sej hi” in response to Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi’s statement. The Indian Army is “awaiting orders from the government” to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Speaking on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute, Azad said, “It is a very old issue like the Northeast and the dispute will continue for a long time.” He lashed out at those leaders who are abusing PM Modi. Talking about the possibility of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Azad said, “The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is conducive for holding assembly elections and terrorism cannot be an excuse for delaying them.”
