Rajkot: A 55-year-old woman was killed and fifteen others were injured when a utility vehicle overturned near Jasdan on Tuesday night. Two of the injured women are in critical condition, the police said,
All the passengers were women employed by a caterer. They were on their way to a village in Surendranagar district to prepare food for a religious program when the accident happened. Police said the vehicle going from Bagsara village of Surendranagar towards Gediya overturned between Santhali and Navgam village of Jasdan taluka.
According to the police, Saroj Dabhi, a resident of Chuda village of Bhesan taluka of Junagadh district, died in the accident. The condition of Ashmita Sharda (32) and Bhagwati Rafucha (38) is said to be critical. They are being treated at the nearest government hospital. All the injured are residents of Dhari and Bagsara talukas of Amreli district.
