In another incident that has surfaced on social media, it is being claimed that the OnePlus Nord 2 unit allegedly exploded during a phone call, injuring the user. According to a Twitter post by ‘@lakshayvrm’, the OnePlus Nord 2 unit damaged his brother’s palm and face after parts of the smartphone were “sticking” after the explosion. The user notes that this incident happened when his brother (owner of the Nord 2 unit) was on a phone call. OnePlus has also responded to the Twitter post and said that it is investigating the matter.

The Twitter user also shared a video on the platform where we can see a damaged smartphone unit, which is claimed to be the OnePlus Nord 2. The shattered screen and smoke from the damaged smartphone are further exposed in the video. Since the video has been shot after the incident, we are still unsure about the exact cause of this explosion. OnePlus, on the other hand, hasn’t given any clarity on tweets or social media channels yet.

Not the first OnePlus Nord 2 explosion incident
There are several incidents of OnePlus Nord 2 units bursting which have surfaced on social media soon after the launch of the device. Earlier in September 2021, the OnePlus Nord 2 unit exploded, and the user (who is also a lawyer) filed a case against the company and Amazon India. The unit was purchased ten days before the alleged incident. the user had claimed That the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone was in his coat pocket at the time of the “explosion”. The user had said that he had suffered injuries, and that his clothing was badly damaged. However, OnePlus clarified to News18 that the user refused to cooperate for a proper diagnosis. It was after several attempts to analyze the device and the company even offered to visit the owner’s house.
A similar incident happened in Bengaluru, Bengaluru in September 2021. However, OnePlus had clarified that the explosion was caused by an isolated incident involving external factors and not a manufacturing or product issue. OnePlus Nord 2 powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC was launched in India in July 2021.
