OnePlus will introduce alert slider only on Pro model, Oppo flagships: Report

OnePlus has started providing the physical alert slider on its smartphones since the launch of OnePlus One. Located on the top left edge of the phone, it allows the user to set the phone’s sound profile as silent, vibrate and ring without having to unlock the screen. According to a tipster, this practice will soon change and the company will limit the popular alert slider to its flagship models. As per the leak, the recently unveiled OnePlus Nord 2T was the last mid-range device to feature the alert slider. From this point onwards, the alert slider will only be offered in the Pro model alongside the Oppo flagships. The upcoming OnePlus 10T is said to launch without the alert slider.

Renowned tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), on Twitter, suggested That some OnePlus phones will feature the alert slider from now on. According to the tweet, OnePlus Nord 2T Released in May, it was the last handset to carry the Alert slider and from now on, the feature will be available in the Pro model and some more. However, OnePlus is yet to confirm the news, so the reported details should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Recently, Yogesh Brar in association with Onsitego Groove OnePlus 10T renders and key specifications. The leaked render shows the handset in black color without the alert slider. It is also shown with a hole-punch display design. The OnePlus 10 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood. It is said to sport a triple rear camera unit, which houses a 50-megapixel main sensor. A 32-megapixel front camera can be found in the phone for selfie. It is tipped to sport a 4,800mAh battery.
