OpenAI Launches More Human-Like, Creative Chatbot ‘GPT-4’ Globally, What Are The Features That Are Previous Versions?

New Delhi: Artificial research firm OpenAI has launched a more advanced and sophisticated version of the chatbot named ‘GPT-4’ to take deep and machine learning to the next level. The new version of ChatGPT will not only “demonstrate human-level performance on a variety of professional and academic benchmarks, but it will also accept image and text input”. It is available for ChatGPT Plus subscribers with a usage cap.

How is GPT-4 different from the earlier GPT 3.5?

Earlier versions of GPT only accepted text-input and were not as human-like as they are now. In a simpler language, GPT-4 is more reliable, creative and capable of handling more micro-instructions than GPT-3.5.

“In a casual conversation, the difference between GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 Can be subtle. The difference emerges when the complexity of the task reaches a sufficient threshold—GPT-4 is more reliable, creative, and capable of handling more micro-instructions than GPT-3.5,” OpenAI explained in the blog.

What are the features of GPT-4?

visual inputs

It can accept a prompt of text and images, expanding the user’s options and allowing them to specify any vision or language task. However, Image Input is still a research preview and not publicly available.

risk and mitigation

GPT-4 is safer and more secure than previous versions to reduce and filter out harmful advice, buggy code, and misinformation.

“GPT-4 has been made safer and more aligned since the beginning of training, with efforts including pre-training data selection and filtering, evaluation and expert engagement, model security improvements, and monitoring and enforcement,” said the OpenAI blog.

What are the current limits?

GPT-4 has the same limitations as earlier GPT models. It is “still not entirely reliable because it “hallucinates facts and makes logic errors”.

“Great care should be taken when using language model outputs, especially in high-stakes contexts, with precise protocols (such as human review, grounding with additional context, or avoiding using high-stakes Avoiding) matches the needs of a specific use-case,” the blog added.

Who can use the new GPT-4?

ChatGPT Plus subscribers will get GPT-4 access on chat.openai.com with usage limits. The company may introduce a new subscription tier for high-volume GPT-4 usage and may also allow a certain amount of free GPT-4 queries for those who do not have a subscription.
