OPS expressed concern over rising deaths

AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam on Saturday expressed concern over the rising death rate due to COVID-19 in the state.

In a statement, he said the death toll from the infection had risen from 20 on September 1 to 27 on September 23. Similarly, during the same period, the number of fresh cases reported had increased from 1,509 to 1,745.

‘People will panic’

The AIADMK leader said that even though the figures do not show any alarming trend, people will panic about the emergence of a third wave of infections if the current situation continues.

Shri Panneerselvam appealed to Chief Minister MK Stalin to ensure strict implementation of restrictions due to COVID-19 and said that physical distancing and gathering of people should be enforced in shops and malls.
