Amaravati: Giving more energy to women empowerment, the state government has given permission to Sri Padmavati Mahila Vishwavidyalaya to start postgraduate stream with public policy. It is the first university in the state to offer MA with Public Policy. The Public Policy section is especially important for those who dream of achieving success in the civil services. Interestingly, Shri Padmavati Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (SPMV) is a pioneer in introducing the special curriculum of Public Policy at the undergraduate level, which was started in 2018-19. “The BA Public Policy and Anthropology course, which was introduced in our university in the academic year 2018-19, has proved to be a huge hit with the students. We have decided to start MA Public Policy from the current academic year,” said Dr Sujatha, course coordinator.

Former Chief Secretary Dr. Mohan Kanda, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. KV Satyanarayana and Dr. Ashok will work as advisors and advisors to the university in starting this stream. “Public policy is nothing but a confluence of economics, public administration, political science and anthropology. All the subjects are covered in Civil Services Preliminary Examination and Main Examination and hence the subjects were dealt with in different semesters so that students can learn Public Policy as well as prepare for the Civil Services Preliminary and Main Examination of the nation.
