Pakistan Army helicopter crashes with senior officers in Balochistan

New Delhi: A Pakistan Army helicopter – accompanied by senior military officers including their XII Corps commander Lt Gen Sarfaraz Ali, crashed near Lasbela in Balochistan on Monday night.

Collision Allegedly Happened between Windar and Sassi Punnu Tirtha in Balochistan.

The Pakistani military said in a statement that the helicopter, which was assisting in flood relief work in the area, went missing after losing contact with air traffic control.

Sources in Pakistan told ThePrint that the wreckage of the crashed helicopter was found after a search and rescue operation was launched, when the helicopter went off the radar.

Though casualties are feared in the accident, sources said it was too early to ascertain why the accident took place.

The news of the helicopter’s disappearance prompted Pakistani Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and former PM Imran Khan to take to social media to express their grief and pray for those on board.

DG Coast Guard, 2 Majors can also board

According to reportsSix Pakistani military officers were on board the helicopter along with the Corps Commander.
