Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan (FIA) has identified four employees of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretariat, whose personal and salary accounts were used to receive foreign funding.

The probe was conducted by a three-member Election Commission bench of Pakistan that ruled in a unanimous verdict that PTI had received sanctioned funds in a case pending since 2014, reports ARY News.
On 4 August, the Pakistan government decided to file a disqualification reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan after the banned funding case was decided and the federal cabinet accepted the recommendation.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said in her press conference that PTI used a total of 16 bank accounts which were not found on record. He alleged that PTI used the donation as party fund and it would be probed.
“For the first time in Pakistan, a political party has been declared as a foreign-funded party. The accounts of PTI Secretariat employees were used for foreign funding,” he said.

Further, it was found that PTI Chairman Imran Khan submitted an incorrect nomination Form I.
The ECP decided to issue a show cause notice to PTI to explain why the commission should not forfeit the money received.
As per the publication, the ECP had released the cause list of the case. The cause list revealed that the decision would be announced by a three-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, who reached office early in the morning.
