Pakistan reaches out to China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia to boycott G20 meeting in J&K – Times of India

Islamabad: Pakistan Reaching out to its closest allies in the Group of 20 – China, turkey and Saudi Arabia – for boycotting the G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan asks China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia to boycott G20 meeting in JK,” tweeted WLVN Analysis, a geopolitics, defense and national security think tank.
As per the reports, India is planning to host some of the G20 events in Jammu and Kashmir, reports The Express Tribune.
India is set to assume the presidency of the G20 in December this year.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was appointed India’s Sherpa for the G20 in September 2021.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India will chair the G-20 from December 1, 2022 and will hold the first G20 leaders’ summit in 2023.
The representation of India at the G20 summit is led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi From 2014.
The G20 countries include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Pakistan has already rejected the proposed meeting, with official sources telling The Express Tribune that Islamabad will reach out to the G20 countries on the issue.
Sources said that Pakistan would particularly approach countries like China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia to express its concerns.
The Express Tribune reported that Islamabad would also talk to the US, UK and other members of the G20 to counter Indian plans.
Recently in March, India hosted an investment conference of Gulf countries in JK. Entrepreneurs and CEOs from various countries including Dubai, UAE and Holland were present at the summit. Representatives from more than 36 countries participated in the event.
As part of the four-day event, JK Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha along with Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and other government officials showcased investment opportunities with focus on entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration approved an investment proposal of Rs 27,000 crore at the Gulf Investment Summit.
The entry of Gulf countries into J&K is a signal to Pakistan which is insisting on the propaganda about Kashmir that it should be resolved as a problem and Muslim countries should support its argument.
