Pallu says almost all projects inaugurated by CM were started during TDP rule

‘Tell the officials why 35,000 TIDCO houses are not being allotted to the beneficiaries’

Almost all the projects were inaugurated by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday, when the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was ruling the state in its last term. The party’s Visakhapatnam urban president and former MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the projects were not only started but funds were also allocated and a major part of the work was also completed by the TDP.

Addressing the media here on Friday, he said the chief minister cannot take credit for projects just by inaugurating them.

Srinivasa Rao said officials should point out that the 35,000 houses built by the TDP in 2017, when it was in power, were not being allotted to the beneficiaries. He said that the houses were constructed by TIDCO and the Aadhaar amount was also collected from the beneficiaries.

He urged the Chief Minister to give up arrogance and have humanitarian thinking, as people were suffering in winters without homes. “Just because it was a TDP project, the Chief Minister cannot cause inconvenience to the people to satisfy his personal ego and for some political gain. The CM should direct the concerned officials to verify the list of beneficiaries and allot the houses to them at the earliest,” he demanded.

The TDP leader also objected to the OTS (One Time Settlement) scheme and demanded the government to withdraw the order. “Instead of charging for regularization, the government should regularize the land given to the BPL category for free. More than 60,000 leases have already been given under mandates 296 and 388 and are now in limbo.

The TDP leader alleged that it was a ploy to take some money from people for welfare schemes of the government.

The TDP leader also questioned why the Anna Canteen initiative was stopped and why it cannot be revived. “We have no objection if the government revives the program by renaming it ‘Jagan Anna’ canteen. We are of the view that poor people should benefit.”

Raising doubts over the issue of three capitals, Srinivasa Rao said the chief minister was keen to make Visakhapatnam the working capital, but no infrastructure has come up in the last two years. He said that the roads which need immediate repair are also being neglected.
