Gurgaon: Two agencies for debris sampling and laboratory testing respectively in Chinatel ParadisoWhere two residents died in a cave of flats on February 10, a final decision will be taken by the Department of City and Country Planning (DTCP) in a week, officials have said.

“We are in the final stages of selecting two agencies. Debris sampling and testing is likely to begin by June 20,” said district town planner (enforcement) RS Bath Told. On Wednesday, a group of aggrieved residents met the district town planner to discuss the reasons for the delay in the investigation.
Speaking about the delay, a resident slammed the DTCP for the slow process in finalizing the testing agency. “The residents’ welfare association is planning to write a letter to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) regarding waiver of common area maintenance charges,” he told TOI.

Meanwhile, DTCP has already handed over all the documents related to the project to the IIT-D team which is conducting a structural audit of the society. The residents of Highrise had earlier alleged that the audit was getting delayed due to non-submission of certain mandatory documents to the IIT-D team. An audit issued by a structural engineer will determine the quality of building materials as shown in the plan and compare it to the materials used during construction – primarily steel and cement.
