The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which seeks to link the voter list with Aadhaar number, has been listed for introduction in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

The Bill allows voter registration officers to ask for Aadhaar numbers of applicants wishing to register as voters to establish the applicant’s identity.

It seeks to allow officers to call for numbers “from persons already included in the electoral roll for the purposes of authentication of entries in the electoral roll, and for identifying the registration of the name of the same person in more than one electoral roll”. Is. constituency or more than once in the same constituency”.

Government is leaving our questions hanging: MP

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on December 7 asked the central government to give in writing whether it would give compensation to the families of farmers killed during the year-long agitation.

Potion tracker data not made public due to privacy concerns: Govt

The government told Parliament last week that the data entered in the nutrition tracker has not been made public in the interest of privacy of women and children.

“To maintain the privacy of women and children in our country, the data we deal with within Potion Tracker, especially minor children whose data should not be made publicly available, is an issue that strikes my heart. Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani told the Lok Sabha on Friday, “My pledge is to respect the privacy of women and children who are served by the Government of India in collaboration with the state governments in the Anganwadi systems in the country. The minister was responding to a question by YSRCP MP Goddeti Madhavi on why the nutrition indicators recorded in the tracker were not in the public domain.
