The second phase of the budget session is being held at a time when the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab won the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur four days ago. In such a situation, the government will also give a strong answer to the allegations of the opposition and will try to surround the opposition parties on the basis of the mandate.
Proceedings of both the houses will run concurrently
In the first phase of the budget session from January 29 to February 11, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were held in two separate shifts. Due to the considerable improvement in the situation of Corona, the proceedings of both the houses will run simultaneously from 11 am.
Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir’s third budget
After the Question Hour, Nirmala Sitharaman will present the state’s third budget after becoming a union territory. This will be the third budget after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from the state. Both the earlier budgets were presented on March 17. There may be a slight increase in the budget. This time the budget may be around 1.10 lakh crores as compared to last year’s 1.08 lakh crores. In the budget, emphasis can be given on infrastructural development in cities and rural areas.
Congress will surround the government in Parliament on Ukraine, unemployment and EPF issues
In the second phase of the budget session of Parliament, the Congress will surround the government on the issues of Ukraine, inflation, unemployment and EPF. A meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party was held on Sunday at the residence of party president Sonia Gandhi to decide the strategy for the session starting Monday. The party will make a joint strategy on these issues with other opposition parties on MSP of crops etc.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that various issues related to the public were discussed and it was decided which issues should be raised. All the members of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee participated in it. He told that after the agenda is decided in the Business Advisory Committee, the team leader will decide what to do. He said that during the session, we will raise issues of public interest in coordination with like-minded opposition parties.
