Winter session of Parliament: Winter session started on Monday amid opposition’s protest

Twelve opposition MPs of Rajya Sabha have been suspended from the winter session of Parliament and the opposition has condemned the suspension saying it is against the rules. The list of suspended MPs includes Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai of Shiv Sena, Dola Sen and Shanta Chhetri of Trinamool Congress, Elaram Karim of CPM and six Congress leaders.

The meeting of the Union Cabinet is to be held in Parliament today on the third day of the ongoing winter session. The meeting will take place at around 1 pm.
