Partha Chatterjee, arrested in Bengal teacher recruitment scam, has a luxury flat only for dogs

Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday in the teacher recruitment scam, has a luxury flat for his dogs.

The ED has unearthed several disproportionate assets of Partha Chatterjee since his arrest, including three flats in West Bengal’s Diamond City. One of these fully air conditioned flats of Mantri, popularly known as Dog Lover, has dogs.

West Bengal Commerce and Industry Department minister Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the ED on Saturday morning in connection with its probe into the alleged School Service Commission (SSC) scam in West Bengal. After the arrest of Partha Chatterjee, Rs 21 crore in cash and jewelery worth over Rs 1 crore were recovered from the Kolkata residence of Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide of former education minister.

Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide of West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, is being produced in court a day after she was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the probe into the teacher recruitment scam in Kolkata.

The 69-year-old owns several flats, including a flat from where cash was recovered, which he allegedly gifted to actor Arpita Mukherjee. ED sources claim that flat numbers 18/D, 19/D and 20/D also belong to Partha Chatterjee.

In addition, Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee reportedly own an apartment in Bolpur’s Shantiniketan. According to sources, seven houses and apartments in Shantiniketan are under investigation.
