Even Kavita’s absence was noticed by TRS activists and rivals, but the absence of her name from the list of leaders made in-charge for the Munugode by-election attracted more attention.
Chief Minister KCR’s son KTR, who is also the state’s IT and Industries Minister, is in charge of the party for the by-polls to be held on November 3. Many women leaders including ministers, MLAs and MPs Sabita Indira ReddySatyavati Rathod, Padma Devendra Reddy, Gongidi Sunita and Deepika Yugender find themselves on the list.
However, the name of the poem is conspicuously absent. It is worth noting that his brother Kalvakuntala Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, was also present at the BRS launch.
ANI reached out to Kavita’s office for a comment, but did not elicit any response to queries regarding her absence from the TRS general body meeting and the BRS launch. Attempts were made to reach out to TRS leaders for the party’s side, but they too did not comment.
Meanwhile, rival BJP leaders raised questions, while some on social media also commented about Kavita’s absence.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday launched Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the new name of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), as its first step towards becoming a national party ahead of the 2024 elections.
The launch took place at the state general body meeting of ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and district level coordinators and other leaders at the party headquarters Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. K Chandrashekhar Rao presided over the meeting. JD(S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy along with 20 of his MLAs attended the launch event.
