Paulo Coelho loves simplicity in our designs, says Kerala-based entrepreneur Vivek S Nambiar

“And, when you want something, the whole universe conspires to help you achieve it” – Paulo Coelho.

Similar to the famous quote from The Alchemist, Cosmos, in the case of entrepreneur Vivek S Nambiar, Twitterverse conspired to have Paulo Coelho adorn his designs. It all started with a tweet and an email, which gave Vivek a chance to the writer to wear his brand of conscience shirt.

Writer Paulo Coelho is seen wearing a pastel green shirt with a mandarin collar and a front double placket designed by Antarma.

It was May 14, when Coelho posted a picture of himself on his Instagram account wearing a pastel green full sleeve shirt with a double shack in the front. He captioned the post, which read: Your wonderful tailor-made gift just arrived, Vivek! (sic).”

It’s not often that you have to yell at your childhood hero on social media. But for Vivek it felt like a dream and he is grateful to the universe for this speedy plotting. For Kerala entrepreneur and former journalist Vivek S Nambiar, interacting with Paulo Coelho was nothing short of a dream come true. Recalling the day Vivek decided to send a tweet to the author, Vivek says, “I am quite active on Twitter, and I saw Mr Coelho chatting with someone who was like me. He was just a normal regular person. So, I thought ‘why not’… maybe he’ll reply. So, I tweeted saying ‘How can I reach you?’. Apparently, he didn’t reply. Then someone shared an email ID that Coelho had shared with someone else on Twitter.”

He adds, “So, I immediately wrote him an email saying: I hope the universe plots a conversation with you and I’ve been a big fan since childhood, and I’ve read The Alchemist several times. And I really believe in the concept that if you seek something with all your heart, the universe will help you achieve it. And I have lived my life like that, and it has worked for me many times Then, I mentioned that I have an enduring brand and I’d love if I could send him a couple shirts.”

Vivek had sent the email on April 10 and then he forgot about it. Ten days later, during a family gathering in Calicut, Vivek received a message from Coelho. “I was in Calicut with my family and that night I got an alert on my phone. The message on my screen read: Paulo Coelho, Hi, were you trying to reach me? I opened it and I actually almost fainted. I had to sit It was crazy, ”expresses Vivek.

In that text, Coelho also went ahead and checked out a tweet by Vivek, where he had posted two shirts designed by the brand. In a message to Vivek, Coelho also wrote: And I love your shirt, on the bottom left of your fixed tweet. Where can I buy it?

According to Vivek, he sent four shirts to Coelho. So, did the author pay for it? Vivek says, “He insisted that he pay for it, but I was like sir don’t embarrass me. You are undoubtedly one of the greatest men to walk this earth. I don’t want to take money from you. Love the shirt and later, if you want to change your entire wardrobe then you can pay me at that time.”

He later browsed the brand’s Instagram account and told me ‘I want to get one of every fabric’.
