Punjab Kings (PBKS) batsman Liam Livingstone praised his England teammate Jonny Bairstow for playing a match-winning innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, May 13.

Batting first, Bairstow scored 66 runs in 29 balls with the help of four fours and seven sixes. The right-handed player sets the stage, after which PBKS Challengers were given a huge target of 210 runs to chase down the target.

“That’s how we want to play our cricket, Johnny was excellent and set the tone, we were ahead of the game from then on. It was a chance for me to try and assess the conditions for a little longer than usual.

Livingstone was quoted as saying, “It was good to knock it down a bit before setting up a stage to get to the end. Johnny set it up for the rest of the batsmen and the way we bowled was exceptional on a very good pitch. ” Saying.

After Bairstow’s dismissal, Livingstone made 70 runs in 42 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. Thereafter, PBKS restricted RCB to 155/9 after Kagiso Rabada took three wickets. Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar also got two wickets each.

Livingstone admitted that PBKS were a few runs short due to short boundaries at the venue in Mumbai. But he also lauded the bowlers for moving ahead and helping PBKS to a massive victory.

“I still thought we were 10-15 short with the size of the boundary and how good the pitch was, the credit goes to our bowlers. If we get a chance to put the opposition under pressure, make sure we do that. Well, Johnny did it against one of his best bowlers in the tournament,” he said.
