Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) President Sunil Sethi and fashion designer Ashish N Soni inaugurated a series of fashion shows conceptualized and executed by the students of the School of Fashion and Technology, Pearl Academy. While Sunil lauded the work of the students at par with international standards, Ashish was impressed by the thematic representation. Both also praised the faculty members for mentoring the students so well.
Another highlight of the fashion show was the collaboration with Hansgrohe, a perfect example of the amalgamation of creativity with technology. The multi-functional shower AXOR Showerhaven 1200 x 300 was the showstopper, where Shaver unveiled classy outfits on the ramp. This has never been done before on an Indian fashion ramp.
In addition to fashion shows, panel discussions and workshops were held on entrepreneurship and the metaverse. The digital art and performance exhibited by the School of Creative Practice in collaboration with the Google Collab Research Center and the Artificial Intelligence Diffusion Model caught everyone’s attention. Using fashion technology as their primary language, students used what’s called ‘mimesis’ or simply ‘reflector dress’ as a conversation starter on self-reflection among their peers, and with the help of Snapchat, they created a digital version of it. has developed. The students and faculty of the School of Design displayed their unique projects like ‘Jal Sathi’, Artemis 389 Patient Transfer Equipment and Multifunctional Space Exploration Vehicle. The students of the School of Contemporary Media put on an exemplary display of fiction films, fashion films, documentaries and augmented reality based projects.
Pearl Academy D-School of Business, true to its ethos of digital and disruption, created Augmented Reality markers to showcase exhaustive student research at the click of a button. The markers were created using multiple QR codes that were read by proprietary AR software. The reader was required to point the digital screen at the AR marker and a pop-up of the chosen variable went live on the screen.
Industry experts from Whirlpool, Havells, IBM participated in Portfolio 2022 and congratulated the students of Pearl Academy on their achievements. Over 2000 fashion and design aspirants from 40 schools across Delhi-NCR also participated in Portfolio 2022 and walked back inspired.
Initiatives such as pedagogy, strong industry collaboration and Learning for Life ensure a high placement track-record of up to 99% at Pearl Academy. This year leading organizations, consulting firms and fashion brands such as Paytm, Gartner, Deloitte, Capgemini, Commerce IQ, Gucci, Shopperstop, Future Group have recruited Pearl Academy students.
