People are tired of PM Modi and his campaigns, says Jairam Ramesh

With the Congress wresting the Bharatiya Janata Party’s last bastion in South India in the recently concluded assembly elections, Congress general secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh tried to explain why people voted for the Congress instead of the ruling government.

According to Ramesh, people in India and especially Karnataka are tired of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Modi and his campaigns. Ramesh claimed that despite several roadshows, conducted by PM Modi, there was no enthusiasm among the people.

Congress General Secretary Communications Jairam Ramesh said, “People are tired of the PM and his campaign, no matter how many roadshows he did… but there was no enthusiasm among people…”.

Citing other reasons for BJP’s failure in Karnataka Assembly Results 2023, Ramesh said the saffron party should avoid mixing Bajrang Dal and Bajrang Bali.

“Bajrang Dal is different and Bajrang Bali is different. Bajrang Dal believes in spreading politics of hatred and violence… What Congress has said in its manifesto is any organization that breaks law, spreads religious hatred, religious bigotry Yes, it spreads communal violence.” Will be dealt with according to the law and the Constitution,” he said.

Earlier on May 13, the Congress won 135 seats in the Karnataka Assembly elections, while the BJP managed to win only 66 seats. The Janata Dal (Secular), which claimed to be the creator of the KIG, could win only 19 seats. The remaining two seats went to Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha respectively.

If you look at the vote share, Congress got 42.88 percent, BJP got 36 percent and JD(S) got only 13.29 percent votes.
