Peshawar: A nail was hammered in the head of a pregnant Pakistani woman who said it would guarantee she would give birth to a boy, a doctor said.

An X-ray showed that a five-centimeter (two-inch) nail had pierced the upper part of the woman’s forehead, but her brain was missing.
Khan said a hammer or other heavy object was used to hit it.
The woman initially told hospital staff that she herself had hit the nail in her head on the advice of a faith healer, before later saying that she had committed the act.
Peshawar Police is trying to trace the woman for questioning.
“We have collected CCTV footage from the hospital and are hopeful that we will reach the woman soon,” the city police chief said. Abbas Ahsani told AFP.
“We’ll get our hands on the magician soon,” he said.
