Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 40 paise per liter on Monday. This is the twelfth increase in rates in less than two weeks.

Petrol and diesel prices were increased on Monday for the twelfth time in less than two weeks. Prices of both petrol and diesel were hiked by 40 paise per liter, taking the total hike to Rs 8.40 per liter in the last two weeks.

While petrol and diesel were selling at Rs 95.41 and Rs 86.67 per liter respectively in Delhi on March 21, now petrol costs Rs 103.81 and diesel Rs 95.07 per liter in the national capital.

Rates remained unchanged for a record four-and-a-half months from November 2021 to the third week of March. Since then, the price has been on an upward spiral.
