Petrol, diesel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and other cities on July 28 – Times of India

Fuel prices remained stable again for the 67th consecutive day on July 28, except in Mumbai. The Maharashtra government on July 15 reduced Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol by Rs 5 per liter and on diesel by Rs 3 per liter. The price of petrol in Mumbai is now Rs 106.31 per liter as against Rs 111.35 per liter earlier. While the price of diesel in Mumbai has come down to Rs 94.27 per liter from Rs 97.28 per litre.
Petrol in Delhi today costs Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel is priced at Rs 89.62 per liter. Petrol in Chennai is being sold at Rs 102.63 per liter, while the price of diesel is Rs 94.24 per litre. Consumers will have to pay Rs 106.03 per liter for petrol and Rs 92.76 per liter for diesel in Kolkata.

Retail petrol and diesel prices vary from city to city due to differences in VAT or freight charges. Public sector oil marketing companies, such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., revise fuel prices daily in line with foreign exchange rates and global benchmark prices.

Brent crude futures rose 0.4 per cent to $107.02 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) rose 0.5 per cent to $97.78 a barrel, according to Reuters.
