Petrol, diesel prices today: Fuel rates remain unchanged for the ninth consecutive day

For the ninth consecutive day on Friday, April 15, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel. Petrol and diesel prices were last hiked by 80 paise per liter on Wednesday, April 6, taking the total increase in rates in 16 days 10 per litre.

Oil prices rose on Thursday after an early fall as investors covered short positions ahead of a long weekend and on news that the European Union could impose sanctions on Russian oil imports. Brent futures were up $2.92, or 2.68%, at $111.70 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate futures were up $2.70, or 2.59%, at $106.95 a barrel.

The US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) closed at its lowest level since February 25, the day Russian forces invaded Ukraine, an action Moscow calls a “special military operation”.

Brent futures fell $4.30, or 4.2%, to $98.48 a barrel, while WTI crude fell $3.97, or 4.0%, to $94.29. This was Brent’s lowest level since March 16.

petrol in Delhi cost 105.41 per liter while diesel rates will be charged 96.67, as per the price notification of state fuel retailers. In Gurugram, the cost of one liter of petrol will be 105.86 more 97.10 for one liter of diesel.

Since the end of a long gap of four and a half months in the rate revision on March 22, the prices have increased 14 times. One liter of petrol will be costlier in Mumbai. 120.51 & Diesel 104.77 per liter respectively.

In Chennai, petrol and diesel prices are down 110.85 more 100.94 per liter. Petrol price in Kolkata is 115.12 and diesel is 99.83. One liter of petrol will be charged in Bangalore 111.09 and one liter of diesel will cost 94.79.

Rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state based on local taxation events.

Besides, CNG prices were hiked in the national capital on Thursday. 2.50 per kg and the rate of LPG through pipe To record Rs 4.25 per unit level due to buoyancy in raw material cost.

Now CNG price in National Capital Territory of Delhi 71.61 per kg, up from 69.11 per kg, according to information posted on the website of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), a retailer of CNG and piped LPG in the national capital and adjoining cities.

This is the third increase in prices this month and the 11th since March 7.

While the prices of vegetables and many other food items have gone down the roof, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by approx. 10 per liter in the last one month. Apart from this, the prices of other petroleum products including LPG have also seen a rise in the last few days, adding to the woes of a family.
