P&G launches medical and workplace benefits for partners of LGBTQ+ employees

Consumer goods firm Procter & Gamble introduced company benefits including medical insurance, emergency financial assistance, flexi subsidy allowance and relocation benefits to partners of LGBTQ+ employees.

The company said Tuesday, “Procter & Gamble announced today that all benefits offered by its company are now extended to partners of LGBTQ+ employees. Effective April 1, 2022, the following company medical and workplace benefits LGBTQ+ will be given to the employees’ partners,” the company said on Tuesday.

Partners of LGBTQ+ employees will be covered under the company’s Medicare plan that provides hospitalization coverage to employees and their dependents.

They can also avail other benefits like financial assistance for medical emergencies or bank loans etc. Rehabilitation benefits will also be provided to the participants.

“This latest initiative builds on top of our ‘Share the Care’ inclusive parental leave policy that we launched last year. We will also continue to strengthen our awareness and training programs that educate our people on LGBTQ+ diversity. Sensitive,” said PM Srinivas, VP and head HR for the Indian subcontinent for P&G.
