One pillar was killed and the other was seriously injured in an accident near Ekavarpalayam village on Saturday night.
A police officer at Pathirvedu station in Tiruvallur district said 20-year-old N Naresh, a resident of Venpakkam in Ponneri, along with his friends Krishna and Karthik had gone to his relative’s house in Ramachandrapuram on a two-wheeler.
Krishna, who was driving the three-wheeler, lost control of the vehicle. Due to which three of them fell from the bike. Naresh died on the spot. Karthik has been admitted to Ponneri Government Hospital.
Police have registered a case and taken Krishna of Gummidipondi into custody.
