Pinnacle Industries worked on the design, development and manufacturing of CityFlow’s new bus.

Pinnacle Industries, an automotive seating, interiors and specialty vehicles company, has announced a partnership with CityFlow – a Mumbai-based app-based shuttle service – for the latter’s new bus. As part of this collaboration, Pinnacle will design, develop and manufacture the seating and interior of the new proprietary CityFlow bus. The company claims that this new bus will be the first of its kind in the country, specially designed for urban Indian commuters. CityFlow aims to add 1,500 new buses that will serve 1 lakh customers in the next 2 years.

Speaking about the partnership, Arihant Mehta, President, Pinnacle Industries Ltd. said, “This collaboration reinforces our goal of establishing Pinnacle Industries as a leader in the commercial mobility space. Pinnacle says the entire process of designing and manufacturing the cabin for the CityFlow bus took about 2 years to complete

Pinnacle Industries worked on the design, development and manufacture of new, proprietary bus seats, interior trim panels, luggage racks, driver partition/magazine holders, umbrella holders, roof, flooring and ambiance lighting. The company says that the entire process of designing and manufacturing the cabin for the CityFlow bus took about two years to complete. The company used the BharatBenz chassis as the base for the new bus, and completely redesigned and transformed the cabin to suit the needs of the CityFlow customers.

Speaking on the collaboration, Vipin Joe, Creative Head, CityFlow, said, “Our partnership with Pinnacle Industries was instrumental in designing a customer experience that was truly unique to the CityFlow customer. While the company is yet to reveal the details of the new bus, Pinnacle says it has worked out several aspects before arriving at the final seat form. These include new ergonomic seats with adjustable neck rest with memory foam cushion, stiffer lumbar support, different charging ports per passenger, a center armrest between the seats and a seamless reclining and seat sliding mechanism for better comfort. The overhead luggage rack has also been redesigned to increase headroom and perceived volume on the bus, while a premium color palette, sturdy materials and ambient lighting have been added for a better tactile and feel.
