A collective performance led by star raider Pawan Sehrawat saw Bengaluru Bulls beat Gujarat Giants 49-29 in the second eliminator match of Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 here on Monday. Bengaluru Bulls will now take on Dabang Delhi KC in the second semi-final on 23rd February.

Pawan Sehrawat scored 13 points while Mahendra got a high 5 from cover position. Bulls beat Gujarat in every department, with secondary raiders Bharat and Chandran Ranjit also contributing points.

The match started well with both the teams shaping each other. The strongholds made extraordinary errors, while the attackers took a very cautious approach. But Bengaluru slowly started dominating the game with significant points with their secondary raider Chandran Ranjith.

That double attack with Pawan gave the Bulls their first all out in the 14th minute to take a 9-point lead. Gujarat didn’t let the all-out affect them badly and immediately started a fight. Rakesh S and Pradeep Kumar started dominating the raid and in the last minute of the first half, Bengaluru were reduced to just two men on the court.

But Mahendra got a super tackle just before the interval and ended the half with a score of 24-17. Gujarat had only one tackle point in the first half.

In the first minute of the second half, the Bulls blocked the opening all-out with another super tackle from Mahendra. He raised his high 5 in the process and Bharat again backed him up with a 4-point super raid.

The numerical advantage helped the Bulls post another all-out in the sixth minute after the restart and made the score 35-21. Pawan got his Super 10 as Bulls took a 15-point advantage with 10 minutes remaining in the Eliminator Round.

The Bulls continued to thwart the Giants with ease with their defense. They had 14 tackle points with five minutes remaining compared to Gujarat’s five. Bengaluru was also excited that both Bharat and Chandran Ranjit were doing well.

This ensured that Pawan spent very little time in the dugout. The season 6 champions with 3 minutes to spare gave another all-out and reduced the score to 48–28. The Bulls’ defenders calmed down in the final minutes to secure a crucial playoff victory.
