Plane carrying 72 passengers crashes on runway in Nepal, many feared dead

Yeti Airlines said a Kathmandu-bound plane with about 72 people on board crashed in Pokhara, Nepal this morning. There were 68 passengers and four crew members on board the plane that crashed between the old and new airports in the city located in central Nepal.

“We don’t know yet what remains,” Sudarshan Bartaula, a spokesman for the AFP news agency, said.

A local official was quoted as saying that the fire broke out at the plant as it crashed and rescue workers were trying to extinguish it.

Rescue efforts are still on.
