professionals

  1. The interior of the SUV has been completely revamped. The 1.5-litre model gets a dual-tone black and beige color scheme, while the 1.4-litre turbo model gets an all-black color scheme. Coming to the dashboard, the new Creta gets a completely new unit and has a minimalist feel. Thanks to the new design, you feel a sense of space even with the dark colors.
  2. The centerpiece is the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The screen is capacitive and quite comfortable as well. Visibility is fast and there are many options in terms of customizing the widget options. Also, the new Hyundai Creta is also a connected car like the Venue and the top models will have Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity technology. Under the infotainment unit, there are controls for climate control and to be honest, they feel a bit bulky.

  3. The top-spec model also gets a new panoramic sunroof along with wireless charging, ambient lighting, 8-speaker Bose audio system and a small digital display on the arm rest for the rear passengers. The display offers controls for the air purifier, which is a neat touch. The SUV also gets smartwatch app connectivity, ventilated seats, electric parking brake, ambient lighting tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a reversing camera.
  4. The new generation Creta will have three engine options, a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre VGT diesel and a 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. The naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines pump out 113 bhp and 144 Nm and 250 Nm of peak torque respectively, while the turbo petrol makes 138 bhp and 242 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual that will be standard across the range, as well as an optional torque converter for the 1.5 diesel engine, 7-speed DCT on the 1.4 turbo petrol, and IVT automatic mated to the 1.5 petrol motor.
  5. The dimensions of the Creta have increased and this makes it a more spacious car as well as gets a bigger bootspace than before. The width of the car gives it a bigger look and that gives it a commanding stance on the road

Shortcoming

  1. The design of the Creta is something you have to get used to. Design is a subjective matter anyway but we think it could have been more aggressive.
  2. The driving dynamics of the Creta could have been better as the steering does not weigh as much as the SUV accelerates. Although it is great and maneuverable in city driving conditions.
  3. The waiting period for the Creta goes up to around 8 months, depending on the variant you are looking for and that’s a long wait!
  4. The base trim of the Creta doesn’t get a lot of equipment, in fact there is no audio system available in it and that means you have to go for a higher version to get it
  5. Hyundai has done a lot to make the Creta more attractive than before, but we feel that more soft touch materials could be used in the car to make it a little more attractive. We think it’s a bit wrong to only use hard plastic in the cabin.
