The Ford Aspire comes with a good fit and finish, and a solid build, and that signature look of an American sedan.

Pros:

  1. While looks are subjective, we definitely think that the Aspire was one of the better looking subcompact sedans in India. It also came with a good fit and finish, and a solid build, and had the signature look of an American sedan.
  2. The Aspire also came with a roomy cabin, again with good fit and finish. Even the quality of the plastic used inside felt solid. The sedan also had a huge boot space of 359-litres. Depending on the variant you choose, the Aspire also offered features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rain-sensing wipers and up to 6 airbags.
  3. Ford offered the Aspire with a pair of capable petrol and diesel engines. The latter was in fact, the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine one of the best in its segment, while the petrol variant, the 1.2-litre unit also came with a refined dual-clutch transmission. The Aspire also offers great driving dynamics.

While the build quality and space were certainly good, right now the Aspire looks quite old, especially the cabin.

Shortcoming:

  1. Ford has stopped local production in India and like other models, as the Ford Aspire is not on sale in India in the long run, availability of after sales and spare parts could be a problem.
  2. While the build quality and space were certainly good, right now the Aspire looks quite old, especially the cabin. The beige colored interior looks quite boring while the layout never saw any major changes.
  3. The Aspire’s list of features is not very comprehensive and the best features were confined to the top-end trim. In fact, even the top-end variant didn’t get basic features like LED DRLs, projector headlamps, auto climate control or rear AC vents, which was a major drawback.
