Planning to buy a used Nissan Micra? Here are some pros and cons

Nissan Micra was one of the popular names in the compact hatchback segment in India. First launched in 2010, the car was on sale in India for almost a decade, until it was discontinued in 2020 due to falling demand. However, the car is still popular in the used car market, and you will still find thousands of listings online today. So, if you too are planning to buy a used Nissan Micra, here are some advantages and disadvantages that you should consider first.

The Nissan Micra had both 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, and both were good motors.

Pros:

  1. Nissan Micra It was one of the good looking hatchbacks in its segment, and we think it still looks quite stylish, at least the new model. In fact, the 2017 facelift also came with features – automatic headlamps with follow-me-home function, rain-sensing wipers, and more.
  2. The Micra is a spacious hatchback and can comfortably seat four adults. In fact, depending on the variant you get, the Micra even offers an adjustable headrest at the rear.
  3. The Nissan Micra had both 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, and both were good motors. In fact, apart from the 5-speed manual gearbox, the Micra also came with a CVT automatic unit.

While the Micra’s cabin was certainly large in space, the layout seemed quite outdated in terms of design and styling. The fit and finish were also not great.

Shortcoming:

  1. The Nissan Micra is not on sale in India from 2020, and while parts availability is not an issue right now, in the long run, maintenance could be an issue.
