professionals

  1. Looks Stunning: The Audi e-tron GT is quite attractive. Instead of the grille, the electric car sports signature e-tron pattern panels, bold sculpted lines and a large indentation on the bonnet. While Matrix LED headlights are offered as standard in the RS variant, it is also available as an option on the regular e-tron. However, the Audi Laser Lite is available as an option for both the models. The Audi e-tron GT runs on 19-inch wheels that can be expanded to 21-inch alloys with aero blades. At the rear, the car gets end-to-end LED taillamps with an arrowhead-shaped LED light signature.

The cabin of the Audi e-tron GT is loaded with creature comforts.

  2. Well-equipped: The Audi e-tron GT gets a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit Console and a 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen display as standard in the cabin. The cabin design of the e-tron is very much in line with the classic Gran Turismo as the front seats are set up in a sporty low position separated by a wide center console. The system supports natural voice commands and Audi Connect services. MMI Navigation Plus comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot offering intelligent navigation with e-tron specific functions.
  3. Exhaust Note System: The e-tron GT also comes with custom software that provides unique exhaust sounds to further enhance the character of the sports car. The system is called an AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Warning System), and it produces separate external and internal sounds using loudspeakers located outside as well as inside.
  4. Performance: The standard e-tron GT quattro variant delivers output of up to 390 kW or 523 bhp along with 630 Nm of peak torque. The RS e-tron GT, on the other hand, produces 475 kW (637 bhp) and 830 Nm of peak torque. While the e-tron GT quattro has a range of 500 km, the RS e-tron GT has a range of 481 km. The e-tron GT quattro can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 245 kmph. The RS variant does the same with a top speed of 250 kmph in 3.3 seconds. There are three modes on offer – Efficiency, Comfort and Dynamic.
  5. Quick DC Charging: The Audi e-tron GT is equipped with both AC and DC charging options. The 270 kW DC charger can charge the battery from 5 to 80 percent in just 22.5 minutes.

Shortcoming

  1. Very Expensive: The new Audi e-tron GT Coupe will be as expensive as a Range Rover in India. It comes in two variants – e-tron GT priced at ₹ 1.80 Cr and RS e-tron GT priced at ₹ 2.05 Cr (all prices, ex-showroom).

The Audi e-tron GT can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in 9.5 hours using an 11kW AC charger.

  2. Slow AC Charger: Okay! DC fast charging is not yet easily available in India and charging Audi e-tron GT with AC charger takes some time. The car can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in 9.5 hours using the 11kW AC charger or in 5 hours 15 minutes via the optional 22kW AC charger.
  3. Infrastructure issues: While there is a big push for EVs, the charging infrastructure in India is still not adequate. Hence, the concern of the range will still remain a matter of concern for the owners.
