PM appreciates Venkaiah’s tenure as Vice President in three-page letter

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wrote to former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, describing his journey from the streets of Nellore to the post of Vice President as “an excellent and inspiring journey”.

Prime Minister praised NaiduElaborating on his tenure as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, he called him a “sticker for parliamentary discipline and traditions”.

He further added, “I am aware of your personal anguish and distress whenever there was undue disruption or any way to undermine the dignity of Parliament. Whenever you talked about it, there was a deep pain in your voice. which used to express your concern for a long time. -The future of our country and the vibrancy of Parliament,”

He also praised Naidu for maintaining cordial relations with the members in the treasury and the members of the Opposition Bench, which furthered the spirit of harmony in the House and for the first time gave an opportunity to the members, women and young members to express themselves, Pointing out that his ways of pointing to success are evident from the record increase in the productivity of the Rajya Sabha during his presidency.

The PM also referred to the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 (A) during Naidu’s tenure as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. He said, “In the last five years, several landmark bills have been passed and you will certainly look at them with satisfaction. I am sure that the law on Article 370 and 35 (A) (abrogation of certain sections of Article 370). Related) ), which were introduced in the Rajya Sabha for the first time, you would be very proud.”

Before becoming the Vice President, the Prime Minister recalled Naidu’s days in the BJP and the Union Cabinet and described his tenure in the BJP organization as “memorable”. He said, “The interest taken by you in organizational matters energized every karyakarta (karyakarta). You made efforts to strengthen the system in the party, by establishing more party offices, ensured that they became active centers of public service. and explains in detail the exact roles of each party.”

Comparing the former Vice President to Vinoba Bhave, the PM said, “Your energy is contagious. It can be seen in your wit and wisdom. Your one-liners are widely admired. Expression has always been your biggest strength.” Vinoba Bhave’s writings have always impressed me. He knew how to present things in a crisp manner using the most appropriate words. Whenever I listen to you, I see colors of the same glow.”

Venkaiah Naidu shared a 3-page letter addressed to ‘Venkaiah Garu’ on Twitter. He also replied to the Prime Minister’s wishes on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and said that he will cherish his association with Modi for a long time.

Venkaiah Naidu was the 13th Vice President of India since 2017 and stepped down on Wednesday after the new Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar took over.
