PM in Bali for G20 meeting, interacts with world leaders on key issues on agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at Apoorva Kempisanki Hotel in Bali to attend the Food and Energy Security session at the 17th G20 Leaders’ Summit. Indonesian President Joko Widodo greeted PM Modi at the venue.

The two leaders shook hands during their meeting at the Apoorva Kempinski Hotel in Bali. PM Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to Bali to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit. After reaching Bali, PM Modi tweeted, “Grateful to the Indian community for the warm welcome in Bali!”

During the summit, PM Modi will hold wide-ranging discussions with other G20 leaders on issues of global concern including global growth, food and energy security, environment, health and reviving digital transformation.

PM Modi will hold meetings with leaders of several other participating countries on the sidelines of the G20 summit and review progress in India’s bilateral ties with them.

In a departure statement ahead of his visit to Bali, PM Modi said that he looks forward to addressing the Indian community at a reception in Bali on November 15. In the statement, PM Modi said that he will talk about India’s achievements and achievements of the country. “Unwavering commitment” to address global challenges at G20 summit.

According to the departure statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, “India’s G20 Presidency will be based on the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth One Family One Future’, underlining the message of equitable development and shared future for all.”

Indonesian President Widodo will hand over the G20 chairmanship to India at the closing ceremony of the Bali summit. India will officially assume the presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022. PM Modi will extend a personal invitation to the G20 members and other invitees to the G20 summit to be held in India in 2023.
