PM Modi, Amit Shah to attend Yogi Adityanath’s swearing-in ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda are among the list of people invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, ANI reported. According to ANI sources, Yogi Adityanath, who led his party to a thumping victory in Uttar Pradesh, is likely to take oath as the chief minister of the state for a second term on March 25.

Apart from Union ministers and leadership of BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, several other Union cabinet ministers and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states are also among the invitees. If sources are to be believed, many opposition leaders have also made their place in the list of invitees for the swearing-in ceremony.

Beneficiaries of various central and state-run welfare schemes have also been invited in the swearing-in ceremony with special focus on women beneficiaries.

Preparations have started for the grand ceremony at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.

The BJP retained power in Uttar Pradesh by winning 255 seats out of 403 and garnering 41.29 per cent vote share.

Adityanath will be the first chief minister to return to power after completing a full term in the state in the last 37 years.
