Modi also said that police personnel find it difficult to cope with stress due to shrinking of traditional support networks such as joint families, and added that there is a need for experts, including yoga teachers, who can help them combat stress and relax. . He said technology is important for the security forces but proper training is also needed for its use. The PM said, “The area of ​​security is not just about morning parade and physical fitness. (Even) a disabled person, who is physically unfit, can contribute to security through mental training ”

This would require a change in the training module and that is why the National Defense University was established, the Prime Minister said. He also called for regular interaction between various institutions located in Gandhinagar such as National University of Forensic Sciences, Gujarat National Law University and RRU. Modi said the RRU should also focus on training prison management and how to deal with convicts and undertrials, so that they leave the prison reformers. The Prime Minister also spoke about the growing sector of private security and related start-ups. He said that students trained in RRU can become a part of such start-ups.

In the first convocation, 1,090 students were awarded degrees. RRU was established in 2020 to meet the requirement of trained manpower in Policing, Criminal Justice and Correctional Administration. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel were also present on the occasion.
