PM Modi gave shares worth 5 thousand crores in Chennai, CM Stalin asked for funds

He said that prosperous and strong states are the possibilities of cooperative federalism and vibrant India. Stalin claimed that his Dravidian model of governance is working on this grand principle of implementing listing programs necessary for the development of Tamil Nadu.

Prime Minister Modi said that the development of Tamil Nadu is the biggest priority for the Center and the state has been given a record Rs 6,000 crore budget this time for rail infrastructure network.

“The average budget allocated every year during 2009-14 was less than Rs 900 crore. Between 2004 and 2014, the width of national highways in Tamil Nadu was about 800 km and between 2014 and 2023 about 2,000 km more national highways were built.

Modi said the investment in highways development and decongestion in the state was around Rs 1,200 crore in 2014-15 and increased to over Rs 800 crore in 2022-23.

Inaugurating several projects in the road and railway sectors, he says that India has more rural internet users than urban users and the country is number one in the world in digital transactions.

He said, “Tamil Nadu is home to history and heritage. It is the land of language and literature and the center of patriotic and national consciousness. The Prime Minister said that many prominent freedom fighters of the country were from Tamil Nadu.

Modi said, “I know that I have come here at the time of celebration. In a few days Tamil Nadu will be celebrating New Year, it is time for new energy, new hopes and new aspirations and new beginnings.

At a function at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station, the Prime Minister flagged off the Vande Bharat Express special train, which is equipped with new status and passenger amenities. They also interacted with the students they train.

An official announcement in this regard said, “This is the fastest train between the two cities with a travel time of five hours 50 minutes, saving more than an hour in travel time.”

The Prime Minister inaugurated the new Connected Terminal Building (Phase-1) at Chennai International Airport at a cost of Rs 1,260 crore.

The integrated buildings have been specially designed to depict the rich culture and heritage of the state.

The government has said, “With this new connected terminal building, the passenger service capacity of the airport will increase from 23 million passengers to 30 million passengers per year. The new terminal is a striking reflection of the local Tamil culture, including kolams (rangolis), copyrights, temples and other elements that highlight the natural scenery.

Speaking at an event to mark the 125th anniversary of the Sri Ramakrishna Math here, Modi said he has deep respect for the Ramakrishna Math and it has played an important role in his life. Modi said he felt inspired and energized after meditating at the ‘Vivekananda House’ here where Vivekananda had stayed in 1897.

Modi said, “Swami Vivekananda was from Bengal, he was welcomed as a hero in Tamil Nadu. This happened long before India became independent. People across the country have a clear perception of India. This feeling of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ has been there for thousands of years as a nation.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the 7.3 kilometer long corridor in Madurai and various train services connecting different parts of the state. He also laid the foundation stone for the National Highway Project that will enhance inter-state connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
